MTN Bushfire 2021 Digital Fest Announces Stellar Line-up

MTN Bushfire has announced a line-up of top African and international musicians ahead of its free MTN Bushfire 2021 Digital Festival, which will be livestreamed on 24 September. 

The artists are Nubya Garcia (UK), Bholoja (eSwatini), Mpho Sebina (Botswana), the Ndlovu Youth Choir(South Africa) Qhibo & Hanwah (eSwatini), Bab L' Bluz(Morocco/France), Oddisee (Sudan/US) and The One Who Sings & Sands (South Africa/eSwatini), who both made a recent appearance on MTN Bushfire’s The Collab digital platform.

Other artists featured on the line-up(link is external) are Tendaness(eSwatini), Sun-El Musician (South Africa), Mayra Andrade (Cape Verde), Jojo Abot (Ghana), Christine Salem (Reunion Island), Jeremy Loops (South Africa), Mighty Vibration & Azagaia (Mozambique) and Catu Diosis (Uganda).

The organisers say the globally infused music and entertainment event will aim to preserve the warmth and connection of the physical event through interactive and immersive experiences such as a festival-themed Zoom Room.

MTN Bushfire will continue to support its beneficiaries, Young Heroes and boMake Rural Projects, in their ongoing COVID-19-relief efforts in eSwatini with a donation drive around the digital festival.

Music lovers can claim a free digital pass here(link is external). The event will start at 7pm CAT and can be viewed on several platforms, including the MTN Bushfire Facebook page(link is external) and YouTube channel(link is external), as well as eSwatini TV.

Meanwhile, The Collab featured a short documentary presenting a new song and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Sands and The One Who Sings, better known to many as Zolani Mahola of Freshlyground fame. The event was designed to inspire and support the new creative process and makes part of the MTN Bushfire 2021 Digital Series programme. It included an exclusive Q&A session and live acoustic performance at the iconic House On Fire amphitheatre in Malkerns, eSwatini.
